Got to move.
Got to run.
Got to catch that sound.

A different sound and a new, broader scene—these were the catalysts behind Meg Lauren's 2019 decision to relocate to Live Music Capital of the World, Austin, Texas. Leaving her small hometown nestled in the mountains of Northeastern California and her weekend gigs with her musician father, Doug Sheehy, behind, she sought a fresh musical landscape. Now, finding her own voice in the vibrant singer-songwriter community of Central Texas, she's just beginning her journey.

Meg Lauren brings a subtle yet commanding presence to the Austin music scene.

As a fifth-generation musician, she recognized from an early age that music would shape her life's trajectory. With a vocal delivery that can be both delicate and impassioned, she captivates her audience with lyrics that are simultaneously deeply personal and universally resonant. A devourer of musical knowledge, her influences span a wide array of genres, and she infuses each song in her repertoire with her unique personality and life experiences. Her voice has drawn comparisons to renowned artists such as Alison Krauss, Dolly Parton, and Linda Ronstadt. In her songwriting, she draws inspiration from early memories of classic rock and folk artists from the 1960s and 1970s, alongside a penchant for genre-bending and diverse subject matter, akin to the approach of The Beatles. From narrative-driven folk and blues tunes to pop-infused love ballads to introspective, soul-stirring tracks, her songs touch it all.
